Today’s Over 1.5 Goals Accumulator
Short prices are hard to bet as singles and made for combining. Four Over 1.5 legs turn 1.25 into something worth staking — and every leg here passed our checks on its own first.

What Over 1.5 Goals Really Means
The bet wins as soon as the second goal of the match goes in, from either side. A 2-0, a 1-1, a 4-3 — all winners. Only 0-0, 1-0 and 0-1 lose it.
That is a low bar, and the numbers say so. In a competition averaging around 2.7 goals per match, roughly three in four games clear it. Bookmakers price it accordingly, usually somewhere between 1.15 and 1.35, which is exactly what makes this market interesting and dangerous at the same time.
How We Find Over 1.5 Tips
When a market is right three times out of four by default, spotting a likely winner is worthless — the price already assumes it. The whole job is finding the games where the price is wrong.
Total goals, both sides
We count the combined goals of every past match, not just the attacking team’s. A side that scores once and concedes once every week is a perfect Over 1.5 candidate and a terrible Over 2.5 one — those are different records, and we track them separately.
Long runs are the point
In a high-probability market, a six-match run means little — plenty of teams have one. The threshold sits higher here, so what surfaces is the twelve or fifteen-match sequence that even a defensive side has not broken.
The odds filter is merciless
At 1.18 you need to be right more than 85% of the time just to break even. Most strong runs do not clear that bar, and those tips never appear. This is the market our price check rejects most often.
The league sets the baseline
Two goals is close to routine in the Eredivisie and genuinely uncertain in a defensive second tier. A run is always read against the scoring level of its own competition, never against a global average.
The Trap Nobody Mentions
Over 1.5 feels safe, and that is precisely the risk. At odds of 1.22, a single loss wipes out four consecutive wins. Get eight right and two wrong out of ten — an 80% strike rate, better than the market average — and you have turned £100 of stakes into £97.60. Being right most of the time is not the same as making money.
This is why we treat short-priced markets more strictly than long ones. A 3.50 tip only has to land 30% of the time to be worth taking. A 1.22 tip has to land 82%. The evidence required is completely different, and any site publishing both with the same confidence threshold is not doing the arithmetic.
Over 1.5, Over 2.5 or BTTS?
Three goal markets, three different questions.
- Over 1.5 — will this game produce two goals at all? Highest strike rate, shortest price, best used in combination.
- Over 2.5 — will it be genuinely open? Roughly a coin flip in most leagues, which is where singles start to make sense.
- Both teams to score — will each side find the net? A different bet entirely: a 3-0 wins Over 1.5 and 2.5 but loses BTTS.
If a team’s matches keep finishing 2-0 and 1-0, Over 1.5 is the market that fits — the other two will keep losing on the same fixtures.
Over 1.5 Goals FAQs
What does Over 1.5 goals mean?
At least two goals in the match, scored by either team. Only 0-0, 1-0 and 0-1 lose the bet. It settles on 90 minutes plus stoppage time — goals in extra time do not count.
How often does Over 1.5 land?
In a league averaging around 2.7 goals a game, close to three quarters of matches produce two or more. It swings a fair way either side of that: high-scoring competitions push past 80%, defensive ones drop nearer 65%. The league baseline matters more here than in any other goals market.
Is Over 1.5 a good bet?
Only at the right price. The strike rate is high but so is the bookmaker’s confidence, and at 1.20 you need better than 83% to break even long term. It works best as part of an accumulator, or on the fixtures where the price has not caught up with a team’s actual scoring pattern.
Why do so few tips appear on this page?
Because most Over 1.5 candidates fail the price check. A twelve-match run looks impressive, but if the odds sit at 1.15 the bet is still bad. We would rather publish four Over 1.5 tips a day than twenty that only look comfortable.
Can I combine Over 1.5 tips into an accumulator?
That is what the market is built for. Four legs at 1.25 produce a combined price around 2.44, from selections that individually would barely be worth a stake. The acca at the top of this page does exactly that, using only legs that passed on their own.
Where can I check a team’s goal record?
In the football statistics section — scoring and conceding averages, current runs and the league context behind them, for every team we track.
