Unbeaten Barnet face a Swindon side yet to score away from home
Swindon Town are Barnet’s visitors at The Hive on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, with a 7.45pm UK kick-off on League Two matchday 12. Dean Brennan’s side are second, level on 21 points with Crewe, and unbeaten after nine league games. They came from behind to win 2-1 at Tranmere on Saturday. Ian Holloway’s Swindon are 18th, winless in six league games, and have yet to score a single goal away from home this season. Ben Atkinson has the whistle.
Predicted lineups: Barnet vs Swindon
Barnet are without Kane Smith, and Romoney Crichlow-Noble is unlikely to feature after a facial injury, according to WhoScored. That should not change the shape of a side built around Kabongo Tshimanga up front and Charlie Lakin in the number 10 role. Swindon’s list of absentees is far longer: Harry Smith, Ollie Palmer, Ben Middlemas, Joel McGregor, Daniel Butterworth, Gavin Kilkenny, Sam Inwood and Paul Glatzel are all listed as out, with Ryan Tafazolli a doubt. Holloway is likely to stay with the 3-4-1-2 that drew 1-1 with Walsall, with Aaron Drinan and Antwoine Hackford up front.
Barnet Team News & Preview
Barnet have been the most consistent side in League Two. Brennan, the August Manager of the Month, has them unbeaten in nine league games with 22 goals scored, and Saturday’s win at Tranmere showed they can dig in as well: they fell behind and Tshimanga turned it round with two goals. He now has seven league goals and leads the scoring charts.
The Hive has been a fortress. Barnet have won three and drawn one of their four home league games, scoring at least twice in every one of them: 3-1 against Salford, 2-2 against Cheltenham, 2-1 against Accrington and 3-1 against Fleetwood. They have conceded in all four, though, which is why I would not go near a clean-sheet market.
What works for or against Barnet
- Unbeaten in nine league games, with 22 goals scored.
- At least two goals in every home league game.
- Kabongo Tshimanga has seven league goals.
- Barnet have conceded in all four home league games.
Swindon Town Team News & Preview
Swindon’s season has fallen away badly. They won three of their first five league games, but since the 3-1 win over Colchester they have drawn two and lost four, scoring twice. Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Walsall did at least end a run of two straight defeats.
The away numbers are stark. Swindon have played five league games on the road and scored in none of them: 0-0 at Northampton, then defeats at Oldham (0-3), York (0-4), Salford (0-1) and Rochdale (0-1). That is one point and nine goals conceded from five trips. Holloway’s injury list makes it harder still, with several senior players missing, and Drinan, who has six of their ten league goals, carries much of the attacking burden.
What works for or against Swindon Town
- Swindon won 2-1 at Barnet in February 2026.
- Aaron Drinan has six league goals.
- No goals and one point from five away league games.
- Eight players listed as out and Tafazolli a doubt.

Barnet Form, Stats & Data
Barnet’s attack is the real deal: 1.98 xG per game is an excellent figure at this level, even if 2.44 actual goals per game shows they have also finished well. The weakness is at the back, where 1.48 xG against per game explains why they keep conceding. Charlie Lakin’s 7.77 FotMob rating is the highest in the Barnet squad.
Swindon Town Form, Stats & Data
Swindon create 1.19 xG per game but score only 0.91, and they allow 1.61 xG against. The fact that goalkeeper Connor Ripley is their best-rated player on FotMob tells its own story about how often they are under pressure. Away from home, those figures have translated into five blanks in five games.
Barnet vs Swindon: Prediction & Betting Tip
I am happy to back Barnet here. They have scored at least twice in every home league game, they have the division’s top scorer in Tshimanga and their highest-rated player on FotMob in Lakin, and they face a side that has not scored in five away league games and is missing a long list of players. Swindon have taken two points from their last six league games and scored only twice in that run.
The biggest risk is Barnet’s defence. They have conceded in all four home league games and drew 2-2 with Cheltenham, so one Swindon goal could make it awkward, and Swindon won 2-1 at The Hive in February. But that was a different Swindon side, and I expect Barnet’s attack to do enough even if they concede.
Barnet to win at 1.41 with Winz is the bet. Correct score: 2-0.
