Short-handed Deportivo face a Levante side that never stops scoring
Promoted Deportivo are eighth with ten points but have not won in four league games, and they lost midfielder Lorenzo Amatucci to a red card in last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Real Sociedad. Levante are 17th with six points from seven games and arrive after a chaotic 3-3 draw with Sevilla on Monday night. Kick-off is at 21:00, with Manuel Jesús Orellana Cid the referee. Deportivo A Coruña and Levante meet at Abanca-Riazor on Friday, 16 October 2026, in the ninth round of LaLiga.
“Es un jugador que nos da muchísimo en esas posiciones de entre líneas, de último tercio, sobre todo en el desequilibrio.” – Deportivo manager Antonio Hidalgo on Yeremay Hernández
Predicted lineups: Deportivo vs Levante
Deportivo are short of options. Top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is out after knee surgery, striker Zakaria Eddahchouri has a hand fracture that Hidalgo says will keep him out for “unas semanas”, Marc Casadó has a fractured collarbone and Amatucci is suspended. That leaves Bil Nsongo as the only fit senior striker, with Yeremay, Luismi Cruz and Riki Rodríguez behind him. Levante are without midfielder Hugo Sotelo (knee) and Álex Primo (shoulder), and Luís Castro will not risk Karl Etta Eyong, who is not yet training fully after a muscle injury.
Deportivo A Coruña Team News & Preview
Deportivo started their return to LaLiga well, with wins over Valencia and at Villarreal, but they have not won since: draws at Getafe and at home to Betis, a 1-0 home defeat by Sevilla and Sunday’s 3-2 loss in San Sebastián. Against Real Sociedad they were 3-0 down after the restart, then hit back through Mario Soriano and Yeremay, and only Remiro’s late saves stopped them taking a point. Yeremay completed eight of his nine dribbles.
The pattern is clear. Deportivo score in most of their games but have not kept a clean sheet in their last six league matches. The concern now is up front, where Aubameyang’s five league goals are missing and Nsongo carries the load.
What works for or against Deportivo
- Scored twice at Real Sociedad and pushed them all the way.
- Yeremay is in excellent form in the final third.
- Winless in four league games.
- Aubameyang, Eddahchouri and Casadó injured, Amatucci suspended.
Levante Team News & Preview
Levante have won only one of their seven league games, a 5-2 win over Betis on the opening weekend, and sit in the bottom three. Monday’s draw with Sevilla showed both sides of their season. Levante never led: Adrián de la Fuente made it 2-2 in stoppage time, Sevilla went ahead again, and Ifeanyi Ndukwe equalised in the 100th minute. They had 20 shots and an xG of 1.95, but also allowed Sevilla 2.55.
Castro’s side have conceded 15 goals in seven games, but they also have goals in them, with Iván Romero and Roger Brugué on three each. Levante have won the last two league meetings with Deportivo, who have not beaten them since March 2016.
What works for or against Levante
- 11 goals in seven league games.
- Twenty shots against Sevilla and a late comeback to 3-3.
- 15 goals conceded in seven games.
- Only one win all season.

Deportivo A Coruña vs. Levante Form Guide
Deportivo A Coruña Form, Stats & Data
Deportivo score 1.5 goals and concede 1.38 per league game. Hidalgo’s side attack with plenty of numbers through Yeremay and Soriano, but they leave space behind them, and the absences of Aubameyang and Amatucci make them less balanced than they were in August.
Levante Form, Stats & Data
Levante concede more than two goals per game but still score more than 1.5. They are open in transition and vulnerable defensively, yet Iván Romero and Brugué have given them a steady goal threat all season.
Deportivo vs Levante: Prediction & Betting Tip
Both defences have been leaky. Deportivo have not kept a clean sheet in six league games, and Levante have conceded 15 in seven. At the other end, both teams have scored in most of their matches, and Levante arrive with confidence after scoring three against Sevilla. I expect goals at both ends and see Both Teams to Score as the cleanest way into this game.
What worries me is Deportivo’s attack. With Aubameyang and Eddahchouri out, they rely on Nsongo and a young supporting cast, and a nervous home side could struggle to break Levante down. But Levante have given away chances to almost everyone, and Yeremay is the kind of player who can create a goal on his own.
I am backing Both Teams to Score – Yes at 1.75 with Winz, and I have it finishing 2-1.
