Postponed by the storm, Cervera’s Tenerife still need a win
Pre-match update (13:15 CET): The official team sheets had not appeared in any of the sources I could check by this time, so the line-ups below are still the predicted XIs. The team news has not changed since publication: Tenerife are still without Baba Diocou and Chapela, César Álvarez remains a doubt with his finger problem, and Andorra have reported no new absences from their 26-man travelling squad, with Alende and Domènech available again after suspension. My bet stays FC Andorra Draw No Bet at 2.25 with MyStake (3/10). The odds quoted are from about 11:35 CET; prices may have moved since.
Sunday’s fixture at the Heliodoro was called off because of a weather warning, so Tenerife and FC Andorra meet at 13:00 local time on a Monday instead. Álvaro Cervera’s side are 12th, four points above the visitors, but they have not won in six league games and have drawn four of their last five, all 1-1. Andorra are bottom of the table on ten points. The table says this is a home banker, but the way the two teams have actually played this season points the other way.
“Tenemos que ganar pronto porque, si no, todo lo que hagamos o lo que dejemos de hacer va a quedar en el olvido.” (“We have to win soon, because otherwise everything we do or fail to do will be forgotten.”) – Álvaro Cervera, quoted by RTVC
Predicted lineups: Tenerife vs Andorra
Local reports have Tenerife without Baba Diocou and Chapela, who is training but not yet available. RTVC also lists Salifo and Alassan as missing, and César Álvarez has a finger problem. Cervera said he will often go with three in central midfield behind Enric Gallego, with Nacho Gil moving into the attacking midfield role. Andorra bring back Diego Alende and Marc Domènech from suspension, while Pau López and Andoni López have recovered. Martí Vilà is in Deporpress’s predicted XI, and neither club nor local media had reported him missing by 13:15 CET. The XIs below are the predicted line-ups, as the official team sheets had not been published in the sources I checked.
Tenerife Team News & Preview
Tenerife’s problem is chance creation. They have 9.9 expected goals in 11 league games and average only 3.0 shots on target, the kind of numbers that explain a run of 1-1 draws against Cádiz, Girona, Celta Fortuna and Sabadell, with a 3-2 defeat at Córdoba in between. Enric Gallego has seven of their 13 league goals, so when he is kept quiet there is very little elsewhere.
Cervera admitted the postponement has not helped. The squad had little time to train, and he expects his players to be more tired than usual. He also warned that Andorra „can do a lot of damage“ if they find space, which is a fair point given how often the visitors get the ball into the box.
What works for or against Tenerife
- Enric Gallego has seven league goals.
- Only 3.0 shots on target per league game.
- No win in six league games, with four 1-1 draws in the last five.
- Baba Diocou and Chapela are out, and César Álvarez is a doubt.
FC Andorra Team News & Preview
Andorra are bottom with three wins from 11, but Carles Manso’s side have underperformed badly. Their 17.9 expected goals is close to double Tenerife’s total, and they average 5.7 shots on target per game. They have scored 15 times, more than Tenerife’s 13, but they have conceded 20, and their finishing has let them down in tight games such as the 3-2 home defeat by Burgos.
Jordi Cano has five goals and two assists, and Marc Domènech, Andorra’s highest-rated player, is back in midfield after suspension. They won 3-0 at Varea in the Copa last week and brought a 26-man squad to the island, so there are no new absences to worry about.
What works for or against FC Andorra
- 17.9 expected goals in 11 league games, far more than Tenerife's 9.9.
- Diego Alende and Marc Domènech are back from suspension.
- Bottom of the table and 20 goals conceded.
- Won 3-0 at Varea in the Copa last week.

Tenerife vs. Andorra Form Guide
Tenerife Form, Stats & Data
Tenerife’s defence is respectable, but 0.90 expected goals per game is a very low figure for a side that wants to play for promotion places. Nacho Gil is their best-rated player, and Cervera moving him into a more central role is an attempt to create more, but the side has drawn far more often than it has won.
Andorra Form, Stats & Data
Andorra’s expected goals difference is positive even though they are bottom. They create plenty and allow fewer chances than their goals-against column suggests, so I see their league position as a finishing problem more than a quality problem. That is exactly the type of team I am willing to back against a side that creates as little as Tenerife do.
Tenerife vs Andorra: Prediction & Betting Tip
The table makes Tenerife favourites, but the underlying numbers do not. Andorra create far more chances and have 5.7 shots on target per game to Tenerife’s 3.0, while Cervera’s side have not won in six league games and come into a rescheduled lunchtime kick-off with a short week of training behind them.
The strongest argument against the bet is Andorra’s results: they are bottom for a reason, they have conceded 20 goals, and Gallego has scored seven of Tenerife’s 13. That is why I want the draw covered. I am backing FC Andorra Draw No Bet at 2.25 with MyStake for 3/10, and I can see this finishing 1-1 or 1-2.
