Aspmyra in November: one of the hardest away trips in the competition for Lille
Pre-match update (20:05 CET): The team sheets are in, and the two Glimt players I was most worried about both start: Jens Petter Hauge is fit to play on the left and Patrick Berg anchors midfield. Knutsen does make two changes from UEFA’s predicted XI, with Haitam Aleesami and Sondre Auklend in for Gundersen and Ulrik Saltnes. Lille are weaker than expected in midfield, because Nabil Bentaleb did not travel to Norway after falling ill, so Maurits Kjærgaard starts, and Cossier and Tanguy Nianzou come into the back four. My bet stays as it is: Bodø/Glimt to win at 1.87 with MyStake for 3/10. The odds quoted are from 2 November; prices may have moved since.
Bodø/Glimt’s record at home in Europe this year is perfect: six games, six wins, and Borussia Dortmund were the latest side beaten on the artificial pitch at Aspmyra. Lille arrive with no points from three Champions League games and a goal difference of minus six. Davide Ancelotti’s side are second in Ligue 1 and beat Lens 1-0 on Friday, but in Europe they have conceded at least two goals in every game, and they come north without three attacking players.
«Det er en utrolig artig utfordring der vi må komme opp på vårt alle beste.» (“It is an incredibly fun challenge where we have to reach our very best.”) – Kjetil Knutsen, quoted by VG
Predicted lineups: Bodø/Glimt vs Lille
The line-ups are now confirmed. Glimt are without Håkon Evjen and August Mikkelsen, and Nikita Haikin starts in goal with Julian Faye Lund still out. Jens Petter Hauge, who went off late in the 3-2 win over Viking, is passed fit and starts. Haitam Aleesami and Sondre Auklend come in, while Gundersen and Saltnes are not in the XI. For Lille, Ethan Mbappé serves the last game of his UEFA ban, Hamza Igamane and Ayase Ueda are injured, Tiago Santos is a long-term absentee, and Nabil Bentaleb stayed at home ill. Maurits Kjærgaard takes his place in midfield, and Cossier and Nianzou start in defence ahead of Goffi and Alexsandro. The pitches below show the official starting XIs.
Bodø/Glimt Team News & Preview
Glimt are in the middle of a title race at home, level on 59 points with Viking after Friday’s 3-2 win, and their numbers in the Eliteserien are dominant: 61 goals in 25 games and 2.84 expected goals per game. Andreas Helmersen has 13 league goals, and Patrick Berg is their best-rated player in midfield. Hauge, passed fit to start, has been their biggest threat in Europe.
Away from home in the Champions League they have struggled, losing 5-0 in Munich and 4-3 in Naples. At Aspmyra it has been different. The artificial pitch, heavily watered before games, and the conditions in early November are a real problem for visiting sides, and in their only Champions League home game so far they kept a clean sheet against Dortmund.
What works for or against Bodø/Glimt
- Six wins from six European home games in 2026.
- Clean sheet in their only Champions League home game, 1-0 against Dortmund.
- Evjen and Mikkelsen are out, and Gundersen and Saltnes are not in the XI.
- Illness affected the squad last week.
Lille Team News & Preview
Lille’s domestic form is good: second in Ligue 1 with 18 points from nine games and only six goals conceded. But that defensive record owes a lot to goalkeeper Berke Özer, because their expected goals against, 13.5 in nine games, is much higher than the goals they have let in. In Europe the cover has not held: they lost 3-2 at home to Betis, 3-0 at Arsenal and 4-2 at home to Galatasaray.
Ancelotti said after the Galatasaray defeat that what Lille are doing in the Champions League „is not enough“, and captain Benjamin André admitted they might not be at the level. Without Mbappé, Igamane and Ueda, Lille are short of attacking options, and Olivier Giroud, who came off the bench to score the late winner against Lens, is not in UEFA’s predicted XI.
What works for or against Lille
- No points and ten goals conceded in three Champions League games.
- Second in Ligue 1 after a 1-0 win over Lens on Friday.
- Ethan Mbappé is suspended, and Igamane and Ueda are injured.
- Their expected goals against in Ligue 1 is more than twice their goals conceded.

Bodo/Glimt vs. Lille Form Guide
Bodo/Glimt Form, Stats & Data
These are Glimt’s Eliteserien numbers, and they show a team that dominates games at home. In Europe the level is higher, but at Aspmyra they have kept that pattern going, and that is where this game is played.
Lille Form, Stats & Data
Lille’s best-rated player is their goalkeeper, which says a lot. They allow more chances than they create, and the gap between their expected and actual goals against is the main reason they sit second in Ligue 1.
Bodø/Glimt vs Lille: Prediction & Betting Tip
Glimt have won every European home game this year and beat Dortmund 1-0 in their only home game of this campaign. Lille have no points, have conceded at least two goals in every Champions League game and are without three forwards. On this pitch, in these conditions, I think the hosts should be clear favourites.
The strongest argument against the bet is Glimt’s own team sheet. Evjen is a big loss in midfield, Gundersen and Saltnes drop out of the XI and the squad had an illness wave last week. Lille are also a solid side in Ligue 1. The team sheets have eased my main worry, though: Hauge and Berg both start, while Lille lose Bentaleb, the man who ran their midfield in Friday’s win over Lens. I still think the home record outweighs that, and I am backing Bodø/Glimt to win at 1.87 with MyStake for 3/10. I see it finishing 2-0.
